Efficient Hair Integration Without Knotting
This three-day intensive workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to professional adhesive hair bonding techniques, perfect for wig designers and enthusiasts looking to master seamless integration without the use of knots. Participants will learn the theory behind adhesive bonding, followed by practical exercises, to create realistic hairpieces with natural-looking partings and whorls that seamlessly blend into wig work.Katharina has developed an time-saving technique for crafting smaller hairpieces like bangs (pony parts), toppers, and bandeaux.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Making a Fringe Piece / Bang with Adhesive Technique
- Overview: Various adhesive techniques, materials, and uses for glued wigs and hairpieces
- Introduction to suitable tulle types: stability, stretch, mesh size
- Demonstration: Headwrap, drawing the hairline, creating a foil mold (options for thickness and transparency
- Gluing
- Demonstration: Mix silicone glue with oil paints for coloring, load into syringes.
- Practical: Apply silicone glue using syringe and dental spatula
- Overview of hair types: texture, color mixing, and quality (synthetic hair, human hair)
Day 2: Color Matching & Finalizing the Bang Piece
- In-depth introduction to tulle qualities & skin-tone matching
- Practical session: Dyeing tulle to match various skin tones
- Testing & evaluating dyed tulle on different complexions
- Removing & reviewing the bang pieces from the previous day
- Attaching & styling the bonded hairpieces for a natural finish
Day 3: Creating a Topper with a Natural Parting & Crown Whorl
- Creating a template for the topper & transferring it to the wig head
- Marking hair growth patterns, whorls & partings
- Base construction: stretching & securing prepared tulle (sewing if needed)
- Specialized bonding techniques for curly & coily hair
- Considering hair texture & curl patterns for a realistic look
- Final adjustments & perfecting the topper

Katharina Pade
Katharina Pade is a highly experienced wig maker and hair artist with over 30 years in the industry. After completing her training as a makeup artist at the Münchner Kammerspiele, she worked as a resident artist before founding MANUFAKTUR in 1995—a workshop specializing in the creation of wigs, hairpieces, and theatrical hair applications. Through MANUFAKTUR, Katharina has collaborated with leading theaters, film productions, and institutions, developing innovative techniques in wig construction, bonding methods, and historical hairstyling. Her expertise extends to custom-made hairpieces, professional hair integration, and pioneering silicone bonding techniques for natural-looking results. As an educator, she has been teaching since 1998, sharing her knowledge at prestigious institutions like the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding, Ernst Busch Hochschule Berlin, and Fischbach & Miller and Kerling. Her hands-on approach ensures that students gain a deep understanding of both traditional and modern techniques in hair and wig work.
