Digital tools such as 3D scanning, digital sculpting, and 3D printing have rapidly become part of the modern FX workshop. As equipment becomes more affordable and knowledge is shared online, these technologies are no longer limited to large studios — they are now accessible, adaptable, and highly effective for everyday practical work.

In the FX industry, we work with organic, irregular shapes and often need both fine artistic detail and precise mechanical accuracy. No single piece of software covers everything we need, which is why makers draw from a combination of tools. Methods and workflows from other industries are steadily being adopted and adapted for our purposes, creating new possibilities but also new learning curves. This workshop is designed to offer a clear, hands-on introduction to that evolving landscape.
